Planning Your First Business Website
Planning a first business website starts with deciding what the site needs to help a customer understand and what you want that person to do next.
Choose the main action first
For a service business, the main action may be a call or a quote request. A business that books appointments may need a booking route. Pick the action before choosing a page count or a website platform.
Gather the information that is already settled
Write down the business name and the service you are ready to provide. Add the area you will serve and the contact information you will actually monitor. Early photographs are useful when you have them. The first site can grow as the business collects more proof.
Decide whether one page is enough
A focused service business can often start on one page. Separate pages become useful when a service needs a full explanation. They also help when different searches deserve different answers or when one long page becomes difficult to use.
Decide who will build it
Building it yourself can make sense when money is very tight and you have time to learn the platform. Hiring help makes more sense when website work is delaying the business or you would rather spend that time getting the business ready to operate.
When the plan is clear, the build can stay simple
